Subscriptions run for a year. Committing to multiple years carries an additional discount - and it also means the rate is fixed while your estate keeps changing.
Physical CPU cores, taken directly from VCF Operations - every physical core in your VMware environment that is licensed under VCF or VVF. Nothing else is counted, and you do not have to assemble the number yourself: it is already in the console.
Nothing happens mid-term. The bands are a starting point for the conversation, not a cliff you fall off - if your estate sits just above a threshold, the price reflects where you actually are rather than which side of a line you landed on. Buying or releasing VMware licences during the year does not change what you pay, because we are not counting in the background.
It is not a trial. Under 200 cores the infrastructure packs are free to run in production, with no time limit. What you do not get is the full catalogue, the AI Extensions and 24/7 support - those start at Mid.
